Some really atmospheric shots in the Beinn Eighe photos, Lindsay. Great rocks too, but that goes without saying!
11 & 16 are my favourites I think.

The wee ptarmigan was well camouflaged.

Really enjoyed the report and photos for Ben Nevis - what a great day that couple had!

Mistress I'll have to remember to take a few close ups of the rocks next time for you to study.

South Cluanie Ridge traversed on a wet day on 24 October. Only a few photos taken at the end of the ridge.

Thanks for posting these reports, for me a great reminder of three consecutive classic days on the hill- we were quite lucky with the weather, and it didn't stop us from achieving what I had wanted to do. It's great to have a knowledgable companion on the hills, and I'll be back out there before too long.
I've also just realised what a super resource your web-site is - so much information on every route that I'm likely to take. Keep up the good work Lindsay !

I appreciate your comments Norman and thanks also for the photo. I note you got my best side!

Hola Lindsay, just checked your website, looks good!
Any interest on doing something together in south america?

Cheers, Nico

I'm sure Lindsay would be happy to go if you paid his flight and board.

I'll come too, if you want!

;o)

Here are some photos from a day walk from Kleine Scheidegg on a recent trip to the Bernese Oberland area of Switzerland. The blog of my walks may come later.

Last Friday's visit to the Cairngorms with a touch of the first snow of this winter.

I've enjoyed reading your trip reports for sometime. They've been very interesting and useful for when I've been planning walks. Thanks!

Some snow scenes taken while walking on the
Jungfrau in the Bernese Oberland.

Interesting walk to the Corbett Brown Cow Hill at Corgarff, Aberdeenshire.

The Jungfrau photos are crackin' Lindsay! To say I'm jealous would be an understatement :)

Corgarff:

At least they have taken the scaffolding down from the castle. How many years has it been now? :) TBH, I noticed it last time I drove past, but your photo reminded me of it.

In fact, I shall be heading that way tomorrow on my way to Aviemore. I'll have an American and his English girlfiend with me so at least the castle looks a bit more impressive than it used to.

What with the castle, and the Calchonie<sp?> Hotel under new management, Strathdon is defintely looking up! Now if only they'd get rid of the Lecht ski centre ;)

oot - They need the Lecht Ski Centre - its the only place in Scotland you can ski on peat.
09/11/2006 at 22:07
It's not the only place Lindsay - you can definitely ski on peat at Glenshee too!
