The hill on the afternoon of Sunday 5 August 2012 was the Sub 2000 Marilyn, Creag na Doire Duibhe which I accessed from General Wade's Military Raod, the A889 Laggan to Dalwhinnie Road.

Again the photos which are in the form of a slide show have a few blemishes.

I took a look and had a wander round your site and realised something, I want your life. Thats a hell of a list of hills you've covered and I feel like a beginner.

Alex I've been doing it for more years than I care to remember. Hopefully still time to add a few more.

On Saturday 11 August 2012 I was up in the North-West Highlands to climb the Sub 2000 Marilyns, Cnoc a'Bhaid-rallaich and Beinn nam Ban fron the high point on the Dundonnell to Badrallach Road.

It was a lovely sunny day and I took in excess of 100 photos. However I've managed to reduce them to just over 40 and they can be viewed in the form of a slide show. However they will probably take several seconds to load but hopefully the wait will be worth it, well I thought so.

On Sunday 12 August 2012 saw me in Torridon to climb the Sub 2000 Marilyn, Seana Mheallan from the car park at the foot of Coire Dubh Mor.

I took a number of photographs and they are now in the form of a slide show which will probably take a few seconds to load.

Do you hike solo or in company? Main problem I've had with comrades is keeping them interested. I generally find campers only stay happy for about 2 years max.

Your passion is admirable.

Both but mainly solo which I'm happy enough with. You spot more wildlife when alone.

On Thursday 23 August 2012 I headed for Newtonmore in the Central Highlands to climb the Graham Creag Dhubh by its north-east ridge.

The photos are in the form of a slide show  which I have amended slightly as I received some feedback regarding the zoom in and out affect making folks feeling dizzy. They will still take a few seconds to load though.

My second hill on Thursday 23 August 2012 was the Sub 2000 Marilyn, Cruban Beag, in Glen Truim, Cental Highlands, just off the A9, Perth to Inverness Road.

The usual slide show may take a few seconds to load.

Well Lindsay, you certainly get around ! Which book/lists do you use to find all those Tops ?

I'm still bagging the odd Corbett myself, over 40 this year so far - and noticed that you're occasionally climbing one or two of those.

What is your current objective ?

13/09/2012 at 22:21

Good to hear from you Norman.

Would like to get in another round of the Munros, Corbetts and Grahams, but probably don't have sufficient years left. I enjoy the challenge of new hills hence my ascents of the Sub 2K Marilyns and the Corbett and Graham Tops.

TACit Press publish bookletts for the Grahams and New Donalds, Corbett Tops and Graham Tops. The tables are compiled by Alan Dawson with assistance from others.

Can't get the link to work but do a Google search for hill bagging scotland you'll get loeads of information there, not just for Scotland either.

Might see you on a Corbett then.

Thanks Lindsay - I'm vaguely aware of Marilyns ( I think Alan Dawson actually lives in my wee town although I've never met him), and I have a friend Gavin who is now bagging SIMS.

If I ever complete the Corbetts it'll be a minor miracle, but I've decided to have a try. Met a guy from Inverness on the hills last week, he's nearly there - it might take me a bit longer.

One more tomorrow, hopefully.

Cheers

What Corbett did you do  Norman?

Was in Skye this morning, some terrific views between the showers. May go back again tomorrow.

Did the Cobbler - had been before, but this time clambered through "Argyll's eyeglass" and on to the summit rock. Tick.

Next weekend Rum, and the following one Beinn a' Bhuiridh, so hoping to continue my slow progress.

Photos on my Facebook page - don't know if you go there ?

Enjoy Skye.

17/09/2012 at 18:43

Lindsay - looking at your earlier link, am I correct in saying that there are 449 Corbett Tops, in addition to the 221 (now 222) actual Corbetts ? If so that's one helluva list !!
