You sure I didn't hear you in my coal cellar one dark night?

I've got to be honest, whilst it's a nice idea, the photos are only average, especially from a 'professional'. I don't do a lot of night/low light photography myself, but I've seen similar photos taken by amateurs on photography websites that are far better. Perhaps, as the project matures, the standard will improve.

Just my $0.02, as they say.

I'm inclined to agree (just) a little bit with 'Michael S' on this one.

The project is a good idea esp. using the google maps API (can't get it sorted at the moment, personally!) but the photography is not perhaps excellent.

Although looking again, we are getting what it 'says on the tin' night shots of lakeland! Don't think I could do any better!

There is only so much you can do when photographing the hills in the low light. City stuff is easy IMO.

So you've never tried it but your happy to be an armchair critic and be condescending at the same time!
The project is to be viewed as a body of work covering a large area throughout the year, shots are taken around the full moon so weather is an unknown. Some areas of the Lake District are more photogenic than others, but the whole area has to be documented. Also images are taken while walking the fells at night - not at dusk or dawn - but when it is well after sunset. Trust me composing images when you can see very little, in the middle of the night, and often very cold aint easy!!! Also consider the philosophy behind the images.
