Thought this would be a good place to ask for ideas for a pub lunch stop (hot meal, nice but nothing fancy/expensive) tomorrow in the Cheshire/Staffs Peak District -- going out for a drive round some old childhood haunts as will be in the area!

General plan is to cover areas like Goyt Valley, Wildboarclough, Roaches, etc in a gentle pootle. Did I hear there's a good place in Wildboarclough maybe?

Cheers!

There is indeed, Stanley Arms in Wildboarclough, good ales, good food, fire...

Yes, it's been a while since I've eaten there but the Stanley Arms down the bottom of the hill in Wildboarclough (Bottom of the Oven) was always very good.

Another option is the Peak View Cafe up on the Cat & Fiddle Road (between Cat & Fiddle and the turning down to the Stanley Arms)

I've heard good things about the Stanley Arms. The Peak View Cafe was good last time I went in , but that was several years ago.

A bit further afield, the Thai restaurant in Buxton (Simply Thai) does main course lunch for £5.75 and with starter for £8.75 and is popular.
