MMM

i'm thinking of doing the Mourne Mountain Marathon this summer.

but the MMM site is utterly useless. does anyone know when the event is being held this summer, preferably if you know anything around september

Mattias, having done this event twice, I hope you realise it can be very tough, even the D class, if your not used to it. Your navagation skills are really tested as is your route 'choice'.

 If you decide to do it best of luck, but stick to your own pace and enjoy it. You don't have to win the class you enter first time out!!!

 The times I took part I was just happy to finish, never mind trying to win!!

yeah thanks huskyman. we are doing it in a fun way more than a competitive way.

i've been running for about an hour 3 or 4 times a week so will hopefully build on that, and get out for a shorter practice run some time closer to the event

any excuse to get out

are you able to compete in the mmm if you are underage but you have permission from your parents?

You'll have to ask the organisers that Mattias - they may have insurance reasons for the age limit (so the answer will probably be no), legal reasons (likewise no) or have a simple policy on age restriction (the answer is also probably no, but there may be room for manouvre). 

Whatever we say here carries no weight at all...you need the official answer.
