I'm coming over from England on Tuesday 29th January, courtesy of an easyjet free flight offer, and intend to spend the day walking in the Mountains of Mourne.
I have about six hours available - could you suggest a route that will offer the best of the Mourne Mountains - I enjoy rugged country, rocky scrambling and dramatic scenery rather than big green slopes, possibly Slieve Binnian & Slievelamagan. Is it possible to buy large scale maps locally in Newcastle, and which map do you recommend? Is there a 1:25000 or 1:50000 walkers map of the area available?
