Is it just me, or does the SL Pro LTR look very like the Raichle 60 degree?

yes, and with a similar weight. Meh, it's not what the cool kids are doing. I've been selling loads of Asolo Alpinists: something like a 100 g lighter per boot and a much cleaner design. Plus a brilliant last capable of accomodating pretty much any foot. Is it just me or is the Manta not just a very good fit since they dicked around with the last recently?

Speaking of which, has anybody actually used this GSB system? We've had 2 people in the store come back with broken boots: the rubber below the little hole in the front had just been totally destroyed. Which meant that whole point of a super-secure crampon attachment just didn't work.

(they got their money back, before you ask..

Somehow...the GSB system has nver filled me with confidence....the little lug going into the hole in the sole.....always seemed a disaster waiting to happen...with the little hole freezing up...

those SL Pros, on the other hand, look very nice. Lightweight for a B3, too. And not massively pricey, not when you compare to a friggin Nepal Evo...that boot has been price hiked by almost 100 quid over the last 3/4 years. And unlike the Manta, it doesn't have seem to have changed any.

From the picture, they don't seem to have the cunning little D rings that allow you to lock the laces at the heel on the 60 degrees.

Speaking of which... I must send mine in... the right one is defective and leaks badly, and they don't make them any more

Anybody know where in the North of England where you can try these on. Same goes with the Asolo Cholatse, nice looking boots but can't find them for love nor money.

Outdoors Warehouse in Windermere stock Aku boots, Ben, could try there.

I tried on a pair of Aku Edge when I was up on the OM meet the other weekend. Ooh, they're nice boots, and if my toes were a couple of mm shorter I'd have snapped up a pair. But alas, the next size up didn't fit round the heel
