Cheers guys - I was not aware of that

Just out of interest, how has the lining failed?

Jon,

It looks as if the stitching has come undone in both of the arm pits . I say looks, as the edges of the lining's fabric has frayed quite a bit now but I imagine that is what has happened - I doubt the material has had two similar tears on opposite sides, which both happen to be near the stitching.Obviously with the breaks in the liner, the insulation is beginning to come out of the holes.

I was thinking of patching it myself but then my needle skills are appalling and I am not sure if it wouldn't just happen again.  Plus it would void any form of guarantee. I'm surprised as its not had too much use.

Ah, okay, I'll keep an eye out for that on our test Torres. Thanks.

Sounds like the seam was sewn a bit too close to the edge (or not finished properly), so the fabric has unravelled.  QA issues happen with all companies, and I'm sure Paramo will sort it out for you.

If you can send it back to us we'll get it sorted for you asap.

You should be fine for few more days yet but just in case -  due to Christmas postage etc if you may need it over the Christams break then it may be better to wait until the new year?

That seems fair enough

Yep - will send it in after Xmas as I'm not going to need it for the rest of the month.

Like I say, I like the jacket and think I've just been unlucky in this case.  We can't all be perfect (or so my ex constantly tells me!)

I'm surprised to hear that about your Torres failing. I've had mine nearly 18mnths and I've used it hard! From being the emergency "down" at the bottom of my pack to being worn by clients on UK 3Peaks challenges and on my recent ExPed to the Khumbu 3 Peaks. And now it's being worn when it's too wet to wear my Rab Neutrino over here. Paramo are great at sticking by their lifetime guarentee, with a very fast turn round too ( had my Velez Ultra fixed when the back panel failed

Well I'm sure I just drew the short straw (as per usual with my luck) - I must say i do really like it and the concept and am interested in getting the trousers at some point.

But first I have to decide whether to get a Velez  adventure light or a Quito- choices, choices...if only it were Xmas....

Mmm. Someone with a more suspicious mind than me might think 3 posts in a year, all praising Paramo might be fishy.

19/12/2009 at 19:43
hang on scree. you complain. paramo come back offering help. you can't be arsed to send it back until after xmas? wtf!!!
19/12/2009 at 19:45

No I'm not working for them - I've been made redundant so am spending more time on the internet .  I've also gradually been persuaded to the Paramo camp (but don't think I'm an evangelist)

Now I would happily say anything about Arc'teryx if they wanted to give me some stuff free. Any offers? Anyone?

19/12/2009 at 19:46
I wasn't meaning you, scree. You've made more than 3 posts.

19/12/2009 at 19:48
Parky - I wanted to avoid the Xmas post - as someone suggested above - didn't know I was required to do it  immediately. But if you say I must then I'll get right on it!
19/12/2009 at 19:49

Oh sorry Mike - bit dense knackered.

But the comment about Arc'teryx stands...did I also mention I like Aston Martins?

19/12/2009 at 20:21

I don't work for anyone at the moment ( got made redundant just when I got back from Nepal ) I was an Architectural Technician nothing to do with the Paramo company. I just know a good product when I use it, along with my ME fleeces, Craghopper Kiwi's and my BD Guide gloves. I don't even get commission by encouraging people to try it out.

Mike you're too suspicious! I just comment on kit I own.
