closed due to fallen trees...

Was up there yesterday, the detour path to Raven Crag is blocked due to fallen trees, looks like its been like that for a fair while.

Anyone know if theres a way round it to still get to the Raven Crag summit? (Leaney implies there is)

On my trip to Raven Crag I bashed across the fallen trees which was very hard work but on my way back down I could see an easier route which came out about 100yds along the forest track (heading south).

Thanks Karl, i got to the sign in your trip report (ascending from Thirlmere) and it looked completely impassable, in fact i couldnt see the path. I considered joining the track heading towards Castle Crag to look for a way around but didnt as i was short of time. Wish i did now..
