Short Stop Snowdon Route

I have the opportunity, due to a trip to Bala and having to wait in the area, to take in for a limited period of hours a route, ideally up Snowdon.

Therefore, my question is split into two as follows.

What is the quickest route to the summit coupled with the ease of parking a 16-seater mini-coach with luggage trailer?

Due to my limited experience of parking facilities in and around Snowdon, I would'nt wish to park and reduce the opportunity for others to park with my vehicle and trailer eating up the car park.

There's considerate of me.

All suggestions would be extremely welcome.

If it's this time of year and you arrive reasonably early you've got a good chance of getting into the Pen y Pas carpark. Then you can assuage your guilt by paying for however much space you take up.
The easiest routes are the Pyg Track or the Miners Track. Be aware that these routes can get dangerously icy in very cold conditions however, so be prepared to turn back if conditions dictate.

I'm aware of the Pen y Pas car park, which on reflection I felt was a little small for the vehicle & trailer.

Any other alternatives?

Not for the quick route unless you want to get the bus from LLanberis.

You can park on the grass or the lay-by at the road junction near the Pen-y-Gwyrd hotel. Everyone parks there as the Pen-y-Pass car park is always full.

It does add @1 mile of road on your route in either direction. (You can run it if you're feeling fit).

I had a feeling they were trying to stop the verge parking, I'd forgotten the layby. Doh! Though they do fill up quite quickly.

I dunno how long you have for the walk, but you could always try it from the south...There's a big layby/carpark new the yough hostel at Plas Gwynant just before Bethania. You can then go along the Gladstones Path upto the Summit. The path is a bit dodgy at the very top (some dodgy scree and nasty in the ice) but it's a cracking walk in and you can then walk out down the South Ridge. (or of course reverse the route...)

Just as to avoid confusion, it's called the Watkin path, but as Alex says it's a cracking walk, though it involves the most ascent of all the normal routes to the summit. To avoid the scree I usually scramble (very easy) up Snowdon's East ridge from where the Watkin path joins the Y Lliwedd path.

That was it. Sorry. I got confused. Gladstone? Where did that come from. I blame the children.

I think Gladstone opened the path, there is a Gladstone Rock complete with plaque commemorating the occasion along the Watkin somewhere.

Yeah there is. That's what I was thinking of. It's a bloody big rock with plaque on it. Just after the old mine thingy on the left of the path, set back a little.

Bloody lovely route though.
