During 2003-4, I did an epic walk across Europe. I've just started a blog of the experience.

Hope you enjoy reading; if you do, please comment on the blog!

Many thanks, and happy hiking!

I should add, this blog is being written to raise money for charity.

The walk raised £5,000 for the Red Cross; the blog is now taking online donations for the John Muir Trust. The donations are handled by Justgiving who will reclaim gift aid on all your donations.

Hi Dinky

Are you into hiking? I'm not much of a general guide, and can't claim to have been that many places in Europe (even if I've been everywhere along a continuous line!)

The southern half of France is great, good weather, well-marked long distance footpaths that go everywhere. Pyrenees fantastic; I've not done much in the Alps.

Corsica is an absolutely brilliant place to spend lots of time and I would highly recommend it.

One of the best places I've ever been was the Meteora monasteries in Northern Greece. The Pindos mountains nearby are also excellent.

Hi yups, im travelling through europe for about 2 weeks to get to Picos, where i shall be spending 2 weeks with uni doing various learning things, as well as hopefully getting some walking in! is there anywhere easy to get to by train that offers gd walking? or any towns that youd recommend stopping at?

Well done Paul. I'm on lunch break so don't have much time to read through for long, but fascinating stuff. I would love to do something similar. It's just being able to take some time out. I'll post to your blog later though.
