Trail music. ?

I don't usually bother with music whilst wild camping but as i've got a seven day trip planned for June i thought i might load the phone with a few tunes for those quieter moments.

I'm not really a music person so i'm struggling a bit to find anything decent to listen to, so far all i've managed is two Eddie Vedder albums and a couple of Kate Rusby tracks, i'm trying to keep it acoustic btw.

Any suggestions similar to the above. ?

Ben Howard is worth a listen, I have all sorts on my ipod though, anything from BPL podcasts to War of the Worlds

Neil Young especially the Decade album. Always a small party for the ears and mind. Time and countryside roll by, hills wave and flow etc.

Re above - if the OP want's accoustic Neil Young unplugged is a good listen.

Oh chips the request was acoustic. Then indeed listen Neil unplugged

Not really acoustic but somewhat different and easy on the mind is This Mortal Coil music.

Probably classical stuff for me.  Mozart, Beethoven, Handel, Bach and many others, but quieter ones.  How about Simon and Garfunkel?

I'm with Rob above, especially Beethoven's 6th in the wilderness.

Twigs, I guess you have Nick Drake stuff, I find it a bit too much after a bit.  I like the Led Zeppelin acoustic album (iii).  Try "Follow Me Down" by Sarah Jarosz.

I like the Moldau by Smetana: it is based on a running river.  Events include rapids and a hunt passing nearby.  This link is by the City of Prague Symphony Orchestra YOU TUBE

The one I have is by LSO, slightly slower and better for it.

Re the events, I might be mixing that up with Beethovens 6th, it might be a train (and not a hunt).  Whatever, it's a nice piece.

Very nice it is too!

Don't see how it sits between Eddie Vedder and Kate Rusby though.

Ditch the rest: make it all up with classical!

I have a Sansa Fuze MP3 player, it has 1 4Gb internal memory & a 8 Gb memory card.  I listen to radio comedies and a mix of light rock, jazz & classical.  I generally put some BBC R4 documentaries on it too.  Saves the phone batteries and is very small and light.  I bought my girlfriend a Sansa Ciip, it is even smaller and lighter but with more memory (8 Gb).

Worth investing in I think, it saves your phone battery and will probably produce a better quality sound (I have bose earplugs with mine).
