We're looking for climbers who are fighting a fear of heights to join us for one day, free of charge, to see if we can put you right ... read on.

Following our hugely successful Overcome Your Fear of Heights course, Will4Adventure are now looking at how we can help rock climbers fare better on those routes they know they can do - but a fear of falling gets in the way. You know who you are - happy to second a 5c maybe - but won't lead a VDiff.

If this sounds like you get in touch - we are in the developing stages and want to know more about what is holding you back.

- Is it a regular thing - or a good day / bad day thing?
- Is it recent?
- Is it as a consequence of a bad accident?
- Is there no sense to it?
Tell us about it.

On Wednesday 20th August we will be trialing our ideas that will combine NLP therapy with time on the crag to see if we hold the cure. If you're interested and able to join us for this one day trial email me now for further details. The day will take place at a crag in the Dark Peak.

Cheers all,

Will

Hi Trevor, the present course we have running has had fantastic results - and everyone has left us spurred on by what they achieved. Also these weekends have been based on the principle that there is no pressure applied to people to do any of the outdor exercises (eg 60 foot abseil) - hence what they achieve they have done so for themselves.

With regards to this new course it is for people who aren't necessarily scared of heights - since they will already be climbers - but nevertheless a film script is running through their heads that stops them from achieving at their level. Typically it seems people have good and bad days. We're looking at poviding a course that will rescript that film that runs through the mind so that climbers can visualise themselves as the good climber they can be every time they go out. By minimalising the negative thought process the climber can freely focus on the job in hand - ie the climbing.

How we'll do this will be through a series of exercises incorporating NLP (Neuro Liguistic Programming). Then to see if it works - get out and do some climbing. I hope that explains it - but at the moment we're in the planning stages - hence we're looking to run this trial.

Will
