Awasrd-winning lightweight sleeping bag arriving soon and can be pre-ordered to make sure you get one...
Tweaked for this season, Alpkit's award-winning, lightweight Pipedream sleeping bags are now available for pre-order with delivery expected in mid-February.
Following on from our recent blog post video with Alpnick going through the details of the latest Pipedream sleeping bag, Aklpkit tells us that you can now pre-order the bags via their web site with stock due to arrive later this month.
We reckon they're going to go fast, so if you want one, it's probably not a bad idea. The Pipedream is Alpkit's acclaimed lightweight down sleeping bag. Originally it was made using Pertex Quantum, but the bag now uses an ultra-lightweight 29gm/m2 rip-stop nylon fabric inside and out to maximise weight savings along with 95/5 750+ fill power, Chinese white goose down.
For the latest version, while the bag is still cut snugger than other Alpkit models to save weight, it's now slightly roomier around the shoulders, has 13 box-wall baffled, a three-baffle contoured hood. The new version has a black outer, specifially, say Alpkit, so it'll absorb heat from the sun more readily for rapid drying if it does get a little damp, even though the fabric does come with a DWR as standard.
Prices are still very competitive for a good quality, lightweight down bag with the PD400 going for £150, the PD600 for £170 and the big daddy PD800 for £190. The bags have Alpkit sleep limit ratings - the temperature Alpkit reckons will be the minimum for a healthy night's sleep - of -3˚, -10˚ and -17˚C respectively and weights of 750g, 950g and 1150g.
We tested and liked the original Pipedream and we reckon these'll be going fast. More info and pre-order at: www.alpkit.com.
