New GoPro Hero 3 Announced

Smaller, neater outdoor cam and now with built-in Wi-Fi technology as well.

Half the size of its predessor and complete with built-in Wi-Fi technology allowing easier programming and, using a smartphone, shot previews, footage transfer and playback.

We've been a bit slow on this one, but if you're looking at making your own outdoors videos, then the good news is that the market-leading GoPro Hero just got a whole lot better with the announcement of the imminent launch of the new GoPro Hero 3.

The new version of the cam is recognisably a GoPro, but has been slimmed down so it's now around half the size of its already compact predecessor, which should make it even more unobtrusive in use and open up all sorts of interesting mounting possibilities using GoPro's comprehensive range of mounts.

On top of that, the new camera range incorporates Wi-Fi technology which will allow you to control the camera using a remote rather than the rather small screen of the unit itself. Alternatively you can use the free GoPro app for apple iOS and Android platforms.

There are three versions of the new camera: White, Silver and Black. The top-end black edition gives  4K and 2.7K video resolutions despite the compact size. Prices are
