New Lux Rucksacks From Podsacs - VIDEO

Quick video overwiew of the features on Pod's new lightweight sac range for spring 2011.

Seems ages ago now, but we ran a quick preview of the new range of lightweight Lux packs from Podsacs back in summer 2010 from the OutDoor trade show in Germany - see here.

The packs are out in the shops right about now and are a bit of a departure from the brand's traditional sturdy but slightly weighty traditions. Instead the Lux packs are significantly lighter mountain packs made using lightweight but still tough fabrics - that means 100D silicone-coated Cordura Nylon for the main body fabrics and Hypalon reinforcements and attachment points.

The packs come in 45, 35, 25, 18 and 10-litre versions, have stretch external pockets for rapid kit stowage and, apart from the two smaller versions, have removable frame sheets to cut weight even further. Ah, weight? The Lux 45 is 980g or 740g stripped down, while the Lux 18 is just 440g according to POD's own figures.

We're off to see the guys at Pod next week, so we'll most likely have some more detailed information shortly, but for now, check out the video for an overview of what's what.
