New OmniFuel Ti has titanium bits and a redesigned, more efficient burner. And it'll cook on diesel...
A new award-winning titanium version of the long-standing Primus Omnifuel expedition stove is out shortly and has already landed two outdoor industry awards before launch.
The new for January 2012, Primus OmniFuel Ti is based on the original multi-fuel stove and burns pretty much everything you can think of including gas, petrol, paraffin, aviation fuel and even diesel, making it a great choice for adventurous use where fuel supplies are unpredictable.
The new stove has slashed weight over the original by using titanium for windscreen, legs and pot supports to give a claimed weight of just 239 grammes. And because titanium is highly corrosion resistant, it should stay looking good too.
The burner has also been redesigned to optimise it for use with pans with an integrated heat exchanger like the Primus Eta Pot. As a result it uses less fuel than the original too.
Primus says that the distance between the nozzle and the frame spreader has been reduced which gives a strong flame and less heat loss at the sides. And using the stove with an Eta Pot means the efficiency rating jumps up from 'C' to 'A'. Finally, the redesigned burner is easier to strip down and clean when necessary.
The company quotes heat output as 2600 W burning LPG and weight as 239g or 339g complete with fuel pump.
The Primus OmniFuel Ti will be available in early 2012 and retails for 199.95 euros, UK price to follow.
