Aldi's super cheap range of walking kit is back in store again
next month with a whole string of insanely low-priced clothing and
kit due to appear on sale from Thursday 17 April.
When Aldi ran the same special promotion last year, we tried out
some of the clothing, and while it's not on the same level as top
quality outdoor gear, it works surprisingly decently and you can't
argue with the price tags.
This year's kit is again badged 'Cranesport' and includes pretty
much everything you need to start off walking without busting your
bank balance.
A few examples: a unisex outdoors jacket in a waterproof,
breathable fabric complete with Coolmx mesh lining, taped seams, zip
with double storm flap, hood and pockets, yours for £14.99.
Or outdoor trousers with zip-off leg in polycotton fabric complete
with a Teflon water-resistant treatment for £9.99, a windproof
microfleece for heaven's sake at £14.99 - available in pink too
- or those boots with nubuck and Cordura uppers, a waterproof liner
and Coolmax wicking lining for a rather reasonable £17.99 in
men's and women's sizes.
Yep, it's all a bit doolally. On top of that you can pick up
powder-coated aluminium walking poles for £7.99 each or a
camping head torch for £2.99, plus a load of other stuff
too.
Like we said, it's not super high end kit, but it feels decently
made and at those prices, you can just about afford to use it a
couple of times then give it to the dog as blanket. We're going to
try a few selected items from the range and let you know how we get
on.
Don't forget, it's not available until Thursday 17 April.
