Those nice young men over at Alpkit now have a baselayer
top on sale using a hybrid merino wool and polyester material.
The
new Bleat is a long-sleeved top with a short central venting-zip,
bent side-seams, a dropped shoulder-seam to prevent rubbing and an
extended back length for added builder's bum resistance...
The fabric is a 43/57 per-cent merino wool / polyester mix.
Similar fabrics we've used in the past have been a really effective
compromise between merino's anti-pong and comfort properties and
polyester's superior wicking performance, so we'd expect these to
work well.
The fabric and garment, by the way, are made in the UK with the
yarn spun in Italy and the wool coming from New Zealand merino
sheep.
If you want one, best get your skates on as the initial production
run is only 500 tops. Price is classically Alpkit at a very
competitive £20.
