AlpKit's Airic Sleeping Mat Family Expands
New from the guys at AlpKit is a slimmed down Airic called, erm, Slim Airic. Slim is, well, slimmer and tougher too as well as being compatible with various aftermarket chair conversion kits.

The nice folk over at AlpKit have expanded their Airic
family of self-inflating sleeping mats with a new addition to the
range called Slim Airic.
Slim is a full-length, 180cm mat, so no cold tootsies, and gets
his name from a bit of judicious trimming at the side. That means
he's now only 52cm wide - the same as Wee Airic - which saves a
little weight but also means he'll fit into existing chair kits made
by 'you know who' and other manufacturers.
Slim - pictured above with his handsome rounded corners - uses
3.5cm of QR foam which, apparently, makes him a little quicker to
inflate and more durable when used in chair kits. AlpKit has beefed
up the fabric covering as well, so he's a little tougher and more
resistant to abuse. The latest Wee Airic has also been toughened up with the new foam and
fabric giving a small weight increase over the original.
The end result is that Slim Airic isn't the lightest kid on the
block at 740 grammes, but should be a good compromise between
weight, durability and utility particularly at a price of
£22.50 including postage. We're getting one in for test
and we'll let you know how we get on.
