Arc'Teryx Launches Ultimate Baselayer
It's made from Italian fabric, is, erm, 'buttery smooth' and apparently creates its own microclimate through efficient wicking and it's new from Canadian brand Arc'Teryx.

We thought you'd appreciate a heads-up on the latest lightweight
baselayer from Canadian clothing maestros, Arc'Teryx, not least
because of the endearingly batty language of the press release.
The new Rho SL series falls at the lightweight end of the
baselayer spectrum and is constructed of something called Vivital
Base Layer Technology, a fine, lightweight, Italian knit polyester
that's claimed to create its own microclimate through efficient
wicking and is touted as the 'ultimate base layer'.
The feel of the fabric is described as 'buttery smooth' for
comfort and Raglan sleeves, trim next to skin cut and flat-locked
seams promise efficiency in use while - and we quote - 'the
sublimated chest logo shows off the shirt's street smarts'.
Arc'Teryx's PR team are very taken with the £40 Rho SL
Crossneck - pictured below - 'which with a beautiful over-lapping
neckline is particularly charming,' it says here. The cross-neck
design provides a higher collar for added functionality, but without
the added bulk of a zipper. And you thought it was just a fashion
thing?
The Rho SL line is also available as a simple crew neck for
£40 and in legging form for £35. We'd expect it to perform
as well as any other polyester baselayer on the market and based in
previous experience with Arc'Teryx kit, better than most.
