Award For New Source Hydration Reservoir

Low profile bladder designed to reduce barreling and sloshing...

In our recent quick look at the products which landed industry awards at OutDoor recently, we managed to omit one interesting new bit of kit for 2011, the WLP low profile bladder from Source, which also pocketed a gong at the show.

Check out the image and you can see that the reservoir has been divided into two parts with a hole in the middle. The idea is that it's flatter and slightly wider, which means that it doesn't expand and form an annoying barrel shape against your back when it's full.

In addition, the two-channel design is reckoned to stop water sloshing about as much when the reservoir is part full. Interesting stuff, and of course, it has Source's other features like the easy access sliding lock closure, glassy internal surface for easy cleaning, anti-mircobial properties and quickly detachable drinking tube.

Also new are Source hydration packs designed specifically to accommodate the new low profile bladder, images and more details in the next few weeks.

Available early in 2011. More information at sourceoutdoor.com.
