Berghaus 2002 Packs On Web Now

The all-new, revamped Berghaus pack range that's just appearing in the shops is now up on the Berghaus web site

A bit slow on this one, but never mind. The new 2002 range of Berghaus packs is now up, with full details on the Berghaus web site.

We've been using the top of the range Quartz backpacking and expedition trekking sac and so far we're very impressed - see our first impressions - but there have been big changes right across the range, with only the Extrem technical sacs staying more or less unaltered.

New A-Trek packs use direct transfer to
hip-belt for improved walktzing performance

Most of the day sacs have been tweaked and re-styled, there's a new lightweight adventure race pack and a neat hydration pack, the neatly-named 'Bladdered'. Particularly interesting though we reckon, are the new entry-level A-Trek backpacking sacs.

Pitched around the £90 mark, they're available in men's and women's models and use a cunning back system where the alloy staves of the back system are fixed directly to the fins of the hip-belt for maximum stability and efficient load transfer.

We're hoping to get one on the site soon, but we reckon the various A-Treks could provide real competition for Lowe Alpine's classic entry-level sac, the Skyline.
