Special offers and celebrities too as the Berghaus flagship store throws open its doors.
The first ever Berghaus store threw open its doors
this Saturday 1 September in the Gateshead MetroCentre. It
will be the UK's only outlet to stock the full range of Berghaus
outdoor clothing, footwear, packs and accessories.

Opened to the media on Friday by Berghaus team members Chris Bonington and Leo
Houlding - that's Sir Chris getting jiggy with the bubbly - the new
shop is appropriately located close to the NE firm's HQ.
It's been designed by a leading firm of retail specialists to move
away from the look of traditional outdoors shops and instead, it says
here, bring 'the outdoors and the brand to life through the clever
use of materials and textures'.
One thing's for sure, its location in the Red Mall of the
MetroCentre, which receives 24 million visits a year, should put the
brand in front of a lot of people who'd never normally set foot in a
specialist outdoors shop.

Sir Chris Bonington seems to like it too:
"The store design is stunning, the people running the store are
committed experts in their field and of course the products on
display are outstanding. I am sure that this will be a great
success." He says.
Opening Offers
To mark the opening, Berghaus has three special offers in-store.
You'll get a free camera case with any footwear purchase, a free Tech
Tee with any purchase over £100 and a half price Devil Sac with
any kds jacket you buy, subject to availability.
And on top of that, there's a free goody bag with every purchase
made, plus Chris Bonington was in store from 10-12 noon and 2-4pm
signing copies of his latest books.

There was also due to be a revolving climbing wall in the
MetroCentre on Saturday with daysac spot prizes, and last but not
least, anyone spending over £20 in the store during September
will get 20 per-cent off a smoothie at the Revive Juice Bar
opposite.
