New from Berghaus
for this winter 2009 is a neat looking new pair of windproof insulated
tops, the Chulu Jacket
and Chulu Vest,
both of which are part of the new
'Mountain' range.
The Chulu Jacket,
priced at £110,
uses Primaloft Eco synthetic filling and is shelled with Berghaus's
tightly woven windproof synthetic AF fabric. It can either be worn on
its own or, thanks to the damp resistant qualities of Primaloft, can
also be worn under a waterproof shell jacket. It's also, says Berghaus,
very light and packs down into the righthand pocket, which doubles as a
stuff sac.
The vest version will retail for £80 and, not unsurprisingly,
uses the same combination of AF windproof outer and Primaloft
insulation to provide trunk protection and keep your core comfortable
in cooler conditions.
Both the jacket and the vest are available in both men's and
women's-specific versions.
The new Mountain range of clothing is aimed at all-round mountaineers
and while it's not quite as technical as the company's top-end Extrem
kit, it's been designed - they say - 'to get the job done and help the
wearer do the same. Neither over-engineered nor over-styled.'
Looks very decent. For more Berghaus information see www.berghaus.com
