Berghaus is lining up its sights on a younger market this summer, a much younger market, in fact its New Generation kids range is designed for 7-13 year olds...

And to go along with the new clothing range, which will be appearing in shops shortly, there's a new section of the Berghaus web site called Next Generation Clubhaus. Based on the free-membership Clubhaus concept, it's an online activity centre for youngsters featuring polls, information, competitions and safe links to find out more about the outdoors.

Visitors will also be able to put questions to a different member of the Berghaus team of sponsored athletes every month, including star climber Leo Houlding, top mountain bike free rider Rob Jarman and Challenge 8000 man Alan Hinkes.

Just Like The Grown-Ups

The new range, says Berghaus, is intended to offer multi-activity clothing that's every bit as well made and featured as the adult range with no corners cut. That means Aquafoil fabrics for the waterproof range, fully-adjustable mountain hoods, ski-pass pockets, adjustable cuffs, reflective trims, fleece linings and so on.

And as with the adult range, there's a spread of kit through from warm fleeces in 200-weight material via Tect-T wicking base layers to breathable waterproof shell clothing. There's also footwear, accessories like gloves and hats and packs as well..

How much will it cost? We don't have a clue because no-one's told us. What does it look like? You can find the whole range on the web site from clothing to footwear and packs but it will be appearing in selected shops from this month. Here are a few bits to look at.

You can find the special Next Generation Clubhaus section at www.berghaus.com/nextgeneration
