Budding outdoor fashion divas should get themselves over to the
Berghaus web site for a sneak preview of the Yves St.Berghaus Spring
2001 collection.
We've already covered some of the stuff in our November show
report from sunny Harrogate - throbbing heart of the outdoors fashion
industry - but there's a lot more besides including...
Summer trekking lewear, mostly named after animals including Wolf,
Coyote and, er, Polecat.
Polecat? To quote the Collins Concise English
Dictionary:
1. A dark brown musteline mammal of Europe, Asia and
N.Africa that is closely related to, but larger than, the weasel and
gives off an unpleasant smell. 2. US a nontechnical
name for a skunk
Hmmm... So if your mates smell a bit funny this summer, you'll
know why.

Mamba jacket - made from
Aquafoil Lite and 85 quid.
In the shops in Feb/March

Also, take a look at the new, lightweight Aquafoil Lite Mamba
waterproof jacket and its smocky brother, the Gecko. Looks like a
PacLite jacket but only costs 85 quid, putting it in the same league
as stuff like the Lowe Alpine Adrenaline.
