A team of British mountaineers had a nasty scare when a polar bear attacked them in the Arctic destroying three of their five tents.

The group had just succeeded in climbing the highest mountain in the Arctic, 3693-metre Gunnbjorns Fjeld and were recuperating when the bear ripped its way into one of the tents.

The team managed to scare it off with rocket flares, by banging pans and by making noise continuously for ten hours. Scary stuff. You can find the full story at www.newsandstar.co.uk.
