Chilean Pooch Packs Not News
So much for Ananova's dramatic story about Chileans designing packs for dogs, the world is littered with the wretched things. Isn't it about time your dog carried his own food?

Jeez, it must be summer. The living is good and news is slow. So
slow in fact that we've decided to recycle this dog-eared
Ananova story about a Chilean company selling backpacks for
dogs.
The Pouch Can - surely 'Pooch Can' - comes in three sizes and was
invented, it says here, by Vicente Mendoza and his mother from
Santiago. Our man Vincente was in the habit of doing 20-day mountain
trips with his dog and decided it was about time the feckless canine
carried his own food. The Pouch Can costs a mere 15 quid of your
Eeeenglish dollars.
Sadly
though, the canine luggage isn't quite the dramatic scoop some bored
online editor thought. There are loads of options for hounds who want
to carry their own provisions. Take, for example, Wolf
Packs - Gear for working dogs (DHSS need not apply) who make four
different dog pack models in a variety of sizes. Here expertly
modelled by Lightning, a vivacious husky.
There's another selection of dog packs here,
or Mountainsmith dog packs here.
And lo, even in the UK where Cave and Crag sell, erm, dog
packs. Or from 1,000 mile here.
So, if you're the gear geek who has everything, the bad news is
that you don't, yet, and the even worse news is that you'll have to
buy a dog first. News, what news?
