Christmas Cracker: Sigg Lunch Box

First in our daily outdoor Christmas present suggestions is the fabby Sigg aluminium lunch box. Ideal for storing decomposing bananas without contaminating the rest of your kit ;-)

What with Christmas bearing down on us like a mighty runaway reindeer-powered sleigh, we thought we'd give you some gift ideas, one a day in fact between now and the day itself...

And the first of our OUTDOORSmagic Christmas gear stocking fillers is the brilliant, but under-exposed Sigg Lunch Box, okay, it's actually called the Alu Box, but we all know what it is, a lunch box for outdoors people.

The Maxi is made from thin but tough anodised aluminium and measures 228 x 145 x 77 mm. A pair of snap-lock fasteners - think army ammo boxes - keeps the lid well attached to the box and a rubber seal on the inside of the lid ensures that your decomposing bananas stay sealed inside the box where they belong.

Weight is just 259 grammes on the OM digital scales, which in our book is a small price to pay for uncrushed sarnies and happy fruit. Price is around £19, which seems a lot until you remember that despite OM routes editor Dave Mycroft accidentally throwing his down a cliff, it's still going strong...
