Sensible shoe specialist Clarks
is launching a range of proper outdoors
footwear which is due to appear in the shops this July,
2009 and uses technical features which have been tried and tested on
existing footwear from the brand.
The new Openair collection features, says Clarks,
'lightweight, protective boots and shoes that are ideal for
hiking, trekking and hitting the urban trail'. The range includes
lightweight walking boots and shoes which incorporate Clarks' Active
Air underfoot cushioning and Rock, a rubber outsole compound which is
said to deliver 'a combination of superior grip, stability and abrasion
resistance'.
On top of that, Clarks is also using familiar Gore-Tex waterproof and
breathable linings in expectation of the arrival of the great British
summer. We'll be getting some in for review in due course along with
pricing and more technical details.
