We've just reviewed the impressive new CÀRN
Storm Chaser eV Mid on OM, but we also have the
same company's Cobra
multi-purpose shoe on test and thought you might appreciate a quick
preview with a full test to follow.
The Cobra is, says CÀRN
designed for running or walking, but also intended to
'robust enough to cope with demanding terrain from rock to fell
scrambling'. Like the Storm Chaser, it's packed with technological
features designed to combine stability with comfort.
That means stuff like a sturdy external TPU heel counter, dual-density
mid-sole and a cunning EVA shock-absorbing wedge designed purely to
take the edge off initial heel impact.
It also stands out by being built with slip-fit upper - above - rather
than a conventional tongue construction, which CÀRN says
gives significantly improved comfort . We'll bring you a full
review in due course, but what we can tell you is that the Cobra simply
feels sumptuously comfortable straight out of the box in a cushioned
slipper sort of way, but at the same time has really impressive lateral
stiffness and stability.
Oh, and they look rather nice as well. We're planning to give them a
good thrashing over the Bank Holiday weekend and will report back.
Price of the Cobra, which is available in men's and women's fit, is £74.99.
