Cop This Caption Comp'

If you've not come across the subversive little caption competition on the Berghaus web-site yet, you should definitely take a look. Every month Bergy's web-supremos Chris and Sue select a pic, generally calculated to poke fun at poor old Alan Hinkes, and invite visitors to submit a caption.

The nice bit is that not only can you win a prize - this month it's a pair of Vertical Lo II shoes - but you can also browse through the efforts of your rivals and grin / sneer / guffaw convulsively as appropriate. It's a strangely hypnotic little contest which ensnares quite a few people including, curiously, the esteemed head gear tester for Climber magazine, who, perhaps less curiously, never manages to win.

Anyhow, here's the brand new piccy along with our suggested caption: 'Although Alan's prototype Berghaus parachute failed to open, he was able to break the fall with his powerful mountaineer's arms, though sadly he still squashed Timmy the dog to the bemusement of watching children.' Yeah, terrible isn't it. Still, if you can do better, get over to the Berghaus caption comp. It's our prize d'ya hear...
