We're already told you about Lightwave's
new 2010 packs, but sister company Crux also has a new
addition to its range in the form of the unusual-looking RK30 which is due
out this autumn, 2009.
It's a completely uncompromising, technical climbing beasty with a
dry-bag style roll-over top closure, waterproof kevlar fabric with a
pliable coating over the top for waterproofing and a totally waterproof
construction.
In fact it's a bit like an Alpkit Gourdon but on steroids and features
axe loops, compression system and so on. We're not sure of the price,
but that's very expensive fabric, so it's not going to be cheap.
What's it for? Uncompromising technical climbing in very wet and tough,
abrasive conditions we're guessing, though it'd also be great for those
Scottish winter days when it's raining at the roadside, sleeting on the
way up to the crag and snowing once you get there with the reverse
process on the way out,
It also looks great in an industrial, uncompromising sort of way. More
