Upgraded for 2012 with new fabric which saves weight and ups all-round performance, looks and fee. And you even get a detachable wired hood for you money.

Alpkit's original Filo down jacket was cracking value for money, but it had a slightly rough around the edges, utilitarian feel about it compared to more expensive jackets from other brands.

Fast forward to 2012 and the Alpkitties have made some major revisions to the Filo, in particular, the shell fabric is lighter and slicker, which doesn't sound like much, but saves a claimed 20% in weight, but also makes for a faster-lofting, more compressible and even warmer jacket.

And all for just £95. To see our first impressions check out the full first look.
