Goodbye Phoenix Clothing
AMG Outdoor will cease production of Phoenix clothing from this autumn but other AMG brands, notably Vango, will not be affected

AMG, the company behind Vango, Lichfield, Teva, Trangia, Rossignol
and Phoenix in the UK, has announced that production of Phoenix
clothing will cease from this autumn.
The decision - which will not affect the company's other brands -
sasys AMG, because of the depressed state of the clothing market, the
strength of some leading opposing brands and the falling price of
Gore-Tex clothing which has implications for competing companies
using other waterproof fabrics.
Reading between the lines, it seems that there simply wasnt enough
interest in the company's autumn/winter range from retailers. It
seems a pity as after several years of producing well specced,
bombproof but heavy shell clothing, the company had made serious
efforts to reduce weight with some interesting looking results.
The production of Phoenix gloves won't be affected and Vango, the
tent, sleeping bag and pack side of the business will continue as
normal.
