If you've ever suffered from wandering dog syndrome, take a look at the
Retrieva GPS dog tracking
collar which uses ViewRanger
software to enable you to track your dog should it decide
to undertake an independent canine trekking expedition.
The collar - see video above - is a lightweight, secure, erm, collar,
that you put on your
pooch like a normal collar. It can be locked in place to prevent theft
and comes in different sizes with weights between about 120 and 150
grammes.
Using the ViewRanger software on your phone or a PC, you can locate
your missing dog accurately on a map and retrieve it. You can even
follow the track the dog has taken and potentially block off the escape
route it's used.
Great idea and an ingenious use of the ViewRanger mapping software too.
The basic collar package starts at £199.99 complete with a
built-in SIM card and access to the ViewRanger mapping system. On top
of that, you pay a monthly tariff of £9.99 for a single
collar with discounts for multiple units.
