New from the nice people at Grangers - friends to battered boots and fabrics everywhere - is a dedicated 'Suede and Nubuck Restorer' which is approved for use on Gore-Tex-lined footwear..

It's in the shops now and is, say Grangers, the result of 'extensive research and development to extend the life, comfort and performance of suede and nubuck footwear'.

The restorer is water based to prevent the suede or nubuck from drying out, contains ingredients designed to condition. nourish and protect and while it penetrates deep into the leather, it says here, won't clog the pores of the material and potentially impair breathability and water resistance.

It's also reckoned to make scratches and abrasions less visible, which is nice. We've been using the standard Grangers leather conditioner and it's excellent, softening and restoring life to boots in near rigor mortis condition, so if the new stuff works as well, it should be good. We'll give it a whirl and let you know shortly.

In the mean time, you can get more information from the Granger's web site or by calling 01773 521521.
