Damart, age-old champions of mass market 'thermal underwear' and
woolly things for grannies in winter fancy a slice of the technical
baselayer market and have launched something called Damart
Sport.
Don't worry though, the jogging grannies have been supplanted by
the beefy athletes of the Bradford Bulls who have been testing the
new garments for the last 18 months. The Thermolactyl-based fabric is
claimed to maintain optimum muscle temperature and not to hold
moisture.
The emphasis in their literature though seems to be on its
effectiveness in keeping muscles warm before action rather than the
sort of wicking performance that outdoor brands are majoring on these
days, so it'll be interesting to see how it compares with the likes
of Powerdry and DryFlo.
Garments are available with short or long sleeves, long pants,
shorts and as a unitard. Prices range from £19.99 for a S/S top
to £29.99 for a unitard.
What's a Unitard? It's Damart Sport's all-in-one body suit with
coverage from the knees upwards.

Sport web site.
