This is more of a appetiser than anything else, but we thought you'd like to know that the excellent American pack brand Gregory, is now available in the UK and we'll be telling you more about them soon.

Gregory has a great reputation across the Atlantic, but until now has really only had limited awareness in the UK, but wth Snow and Rock set to stock at least one of the range, that looks set to change.

We've been using a couple of the packs for a few weeks now and are quietly impressed. You can see the full range at www.gregorypacks.com but the star of the show, as far as we're concerned is the G Pack which reminds us of some of the neat GoLite packs we've used in the past, but with a more substantial back system.

It uses Gregory's Exo frame backplate, which is a supportive 3D moulded HDPE form designed to hug the back and cinch into the lumbar area along with a very neat 'Wraptor Stabiliser' feature which pulls the lumbar area of the backplate into the back using two straps on each side for maximum stability.

Backpacker Magazine liked it enough to give it first place in the ultralightweight pack section of their annual awards, which tells you something. Anyway, like we said, more information and first user impressions soon :-)

well, unless I am much mistaken Gregory packs have been sold through Pegler's in Arundel for over a year now.

Looked at em, never done much for me. Backpacker reviews seem to be based entirely on who advertises with them anyway. They seem to totally ignore all Lowe products for example. Hilleberg got ignored until they started placing ads.
