Haglöfs
is launching a new range of
women's-specific
sleeping bags for
spring
2009 designed around women's shape and physiology.
The new Q-series bags - below - have a fit which is slightly
broader at the hip and narrower at the shoulder to suit the typical
female physique, they're also shorter than the men's bags at 175cm
long, while the male versions are available in 183 and 200cm lengths.
The closer fit should not just be more comfortable, but by eliminating
air gaps within the bags, say around the shoulders, also make them more
efficient. Haglofs has taken this a stage further as well with Q-series
bags featuring 'extra thick insulation in the lower section to keep
feet warm and snug'. Sounds good to us.
The bags also have improved warmth to weight ratios right across the
range and are available in both down and synthetic versions. The down
bags have a differential cut and box construction along with double
baffles and a thermal collar.
The Q-series bags cover two and three-season conditions and use either
600+ fill power goose down or synthetic Trifusion insulation and all
have sub-zero comfort ratings. If you need a bag for really extreme
conditions, take a look at the brand's top-end Goga bag which uses
mega-efficient 800+ fill power down.
The new Q-series bags are the shops shortly. More details at
