HHL Technology have announced the launch of BioTex - a "safe and highly effective anti fungal system" designed to protect fabrics and equipment from mould, fungi and bacteria. So, next year when you unfold your tent, or drag the garden furniture from storage, it should be just as good as the last time you used it!
We all know fabrics and equipment designed for both outdoor and indoor use can take a real battering through the winter months as mould, fungi and bacteria thrive, destroying the fibre structure and potentially causing permanent damage through unsightly staining and general fabric deterioration.
BioTex will protect fabrics from all these common factors. It successfully utilises a safe, non toxic composition, the active ingredients of which have been used safely for decades. BioTex inhibits the most common and destructive moulds like Aspergillus Niger. Not only are these moulds damaging to fabrics, but potentially to humans as well - it is well documented that moulds can trigger allergic reactions, such as asthma and other respiratory conditions, so BioTex is good for the fabric and for the user!
In practice, BioTex will hopefully not only protect you and your textiles, but also save you time - e.g you could pack away a damp tent and be confident that the fabric would not start to grow destructive and unhealthy moulds.
