OUTDOORSmagic contributor, photographer, writer and liver, sorry, live performer Alastair Lee has a new book of his photography out now.

The Book

Forgotten Landscape is a collection of 'images of Pendle Hill, the Ribble Valley and the Burnley area' and we'll carry a full review of the book on OM next week along with some sample images. You can rely on it being unbiased because we're part sponsoring the project.

The DVD

As well as the book, Al's produced a Forgotten Landscape audio-visual DVD as part of the same project which will be available in a couple of weeks.

The Exhibition

The project? Oh yes, because not only is there a book of haunting landscapes from the big to the very small, but Alastair's Forgotten Landscape images are also on show at Pendle Arts Gallery between 2 August and 28 September. Open daily from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. Well worth a visit if you're in the area we reckon. The exhibition is in association with DYSONS ARTS, Nelson who are good people.

Pendle Arts Gallery is at the Pendle Heritage Centre, Park Hill, Barrowford, Nelson, lancashire, BB9 6JQ. Telephone 01282 661701. See this web page for more basic info about the gallery.

The Lecture

Not only that, but on Sun Sept 7th, 6:30pm, Alastair's giving a short lecture about some of the techniques involved in producing the images followed by a showing of the audio visual DVD . Its at the gallery and tickets are a whopping £1.00 and there's a book signing to follow.

You can see more of Alastair's work and order copies of his excellent Eyes Up book of travelling climbing photography on his Posing Productions web site.
