Jetboil Recalls Stoves
Possible valve problems have led to a recall for a batch of Jetboil stoves.

Lyon Equipment is recalling
a batch of Jetboil stoves which use a new-style gas valve
introduced earlier this year.
The recall affects both the Personal Cooking System (PCS) and
Group Cooking System (GCS) and is because of a number of reports of gas
leaking between the valve and the fuel canister, creating possible
ignition. No personal injury or property damage has been reported to
date relating to this issue.
Because of this, if you own either a Jetboil PCS or GCS with the
new-style valve, you're advised to return it to the retailer where you
purchased it, who will replace the stove with a new one. The older
version of the stove is unaffected and you can continue to use it
without worrying.
How To Tell
The photo below is the original valve, which is not
affected by the recall. If the underside of your burner head looks like
this, then you don't need to do anything and can simply continue using
the stove.
The newer valve, which is affected by the recall, has a more
rectangular shape to the valve mechanism. If your burner looks like
this, take it back to your retailer who will replace it with a new
stove.
If, after looking at the
pictures, you're still unsure, please ring Lyon Equipment on 015396 26260 or
e-mail helpdesk@lyon.co.uk
who will be happy to help.

Anyone purchased a Jetboil stove recently? Looks like you may need to return it as it could be duff. Story Here.

thanks for the pointer, Richard. I don't own one, but this thread could do with being bumped up from time to time as I know it's a popular choice on OM. John
