Keen's 'First True Three-Season Boot'
American hybrid specialists launch first proper walking boot.

Hybrid footwear specialist Keen
may have started off with sandals, but this autumn 2008, it's launching
what it says is its
first true three-season boot, the Keen Oregon PCT.
Named after the Pacific Crest Trail, it's a high tech boot with a raft
of features. Uppers are a mix of leather and mesh with high abrasion
synthetic underlays with water kept out by Keen's own KEEN
DRY™ waterproof and breathable membrane.
There's a claimed eco-friendly cork/EVA heel cushioning insert to soak
up the impacts, full length TPU stability plate, forefoot tension bars
and speed-lacing hooks for rapid tensioning and adjustment. Down below
a dual-density mid-sole does cushioning duties and a non-marking carbon
rubber outsole with 4mm multi-directional traction lugs does the grip
thing.
The looks are individual with Keen's trademark big old toe bumper
present and correct and one big plus for some Brits is that the brand
has very generous forefoot width and volume, so if you generally
struggle to find boots wide enough, the brand is definitely worth a
look.
The Keen Oregon PCT is available in both men's and women's versions and
sells for £120 RRP. More information and sotckist details at www.keeneurope.eu.
