A quick diary heads-up for Britain's most entertaining climbing
speaker, the one and only Andy Kirkpatrick.
Andy's pencilled in a couple of dates for this autumn/winter. One
is a joint effort with Ian Parnel at the Buxton Opera House on
22 November. It's in aid of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team and
tickets cost £9 or £11 from the box office on 0845 1272190,
boxoffice@buxtonopera.co.uk
or www.buxtonopera.co.uk
where you can book on line, which is dead convenient,
You can also catch Andy at the Royal Geographical Society
on 3 November where he's giving his When Hell Freezes Over
lecture in aid of Porters Progress UK.
Summed up as 'A funny and horrifying exploration of the boundaries
of human endurance in the Patagonian winter.' Tickets are £10.
Just send a cheque payable to 'Porters Progress UK' with a
self-addressed envelope to 11 Bryntywod, Llangyfelach, Swansea, SA5
7LF. See: www.portersprogress.org.
