Master Of Fit Speaks...

American footwear brand Vasque has taken to the streaming video fields of YouTube with some quietly amusing clips explaining just how the foot works and filling you in on what they call 'The Science of Fit'.

It's all really nicely done with a classy cartoon Zen character 'The Master of Fit' explaining all, erm, Grasshopper, from the anatomy of the foot through to what happens when you walk and / or run and beyond.


Well worth a loook if you're interested in the basics of boot fit, biomechanics, anatomy and how they all relate to outdoors footwear... Okay, so it promotes Vasque, but the principles apply more generally as well.

The second in the series is called The Story of the Last' and explains just how boots are shaped using a last, an artificial plastic foot that controls the shape of the boot. Fascinating stuff and again well worth a watch.
