If you're out walking on the Mynydd Epynt this September you'd better dust off your map and compass, as for 5 days your GPS is going to be useless. The MoD has informed Ofcom they intend carrying our jamming tests between 9am and 5pm starting from Monday 7th September that will intermittently disrupt signals to GPS receivers.

The area around Sennybridge Training Camp in Mid Wales is popular with walkers, with several rights of way and permissive paths across the region between Llanwrtyd Wells and the Brecon Beacons National park. The jamming exercise is expected to intermittently interupt signals within a 5Km radius of the traing camp throughout the week, ending at 5pm on Friday 7th September.

You can get more Information during the jamming exercise the manager of the Epynt trial, which follows the perimeter of the training area on 07766 134520 or from the Sennybridge operations point on 01874 635461.
