More V Liteness From Hi-Tec
Hi-Tec has augmented its award-winning Sierra V-Lite range of lightweight boots with a new model, the Fastpack WP in suede with a waterproof liner. Cheaper than you think too...

A quick new thing for Friday afternoon in the form of the
Hi-Tec Sierra V Lite Fastpack WP which has just ambled into
the OM test pile.
The Fastpack WP is the latest boot to join the Sierra V-Lite
footwear range, which was punching well above its price last year and
landed Hi-Tec a UK award as 'Outdoors Footwear of the Year,
2005'.
The boot uses V-Lite technology including lightweight carbon
rubber outsole, a compression-moulded EVA mid-sole with a
thermoplastic lasting board plus features suede leather upper with a
waterproof liner, a rubberised toe cap and lightweight, rustproof
lace hardware.
There's also what Hi-Tec calls an Exo-Skeletal heel lock system,
in effect a minimalist take on the forefoot wrap-around brace that
first appeared on the likes of the deceased Salomon X-Adventure
7.
So is it light? Think 620 grammes for a single size 43 boot, which
is respectable, especially when you consider the price of £55.
Performance impressions once we've used them a bit.
