Mountain Sun Cream Launched

Lifesystems has launched a range of sun creams designed specifically for skiiers mountaineers and trekkers and including a special Mountain Formula variation.

The Mountain series has been tested in the Norwegian mountains and on an expedition across the Arctic ice sheet and comes in two variants. A standard strength SPF 25 version and an ultra high protection SPF30 cream for when the going gets fierce at very high altitudes.

Up Ya Nostrils...

Both variants contain broad spectrum UV filters that protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays and have a 5-star UVA rating . UV increases at high altitude thanks to the thinner atmosphere. Glaciers also exasperate the problem by reflecting light back up towards you.

OM handy hint - if it's your first time on glacial terrain, don't forget to apply sun cream to the insides of your nostrils, the underside of your chin and under and inside your ears, fried nostrlls are not pleasant.

Finally the creams are sized to fit into a jacket pocket coming in 100ml and 200ml containers and are water and sweat proof for protection even when working hard. And there's even an aftersun lotion for when you're kicking back down at base camp.
